Betty Mackie is a proficient designer, who has worked with various reputed contractors. Over the time, she began to perform duties of a general contractor and repurposed several existing materials, which include doorknobs, stained glass windows, antique hinges, and more.

Betty re-purposed many fixtures for kitchen and bath, and chose the decor for the houses where needed. She also faced various problems, such as - 

• Dealt with landscaping firms that cut down wrong trees and have them re-planted on their expenses.
• Dealt with an uncooperative contractor for repair work that was deemed substandard.
• Dealt with a national window firm that sized and ordered the incorrect size windows and they were forced to cover the expenses incurred.
• Held back the payment until jobs were completed to code and customer satisfaction.
• Found water leaks in one of the projects that required working closely with engineers.

Betty Godwin Mackie successfully designed many layouts for brand new kitchens and worked with interior designers and owners. She chose hardware, counter-tops, paint colors, and cabinets. Betty often scheduled meetings with the sub-contractors, supervised the work, and made sure that the project was completed within the time frame.

In her free time, Betty G Mackie spends time with her family and friends. She has various hobbies like swimming, walking in mountains, listening to classical music, gardening, outdoors, riding bike, watch ballet, and she is an avid traveler.
